October 14, 2024C-Booth Innovations4 min read

C-Booth Innovations is proud to announce that the EXG™ Radiolucent Electrode System has been named a finalist in the prestigious 2023 EMS World Innovation Awards, recognizing groundbreaking solutions that are transforming emergency medical services.

A Testament to Innovation

The EMS World Innovation Awards represent one of the most respected honors in the emergency medical services industry. Each year, hundreds of innovative products and solutions are submitted for consideration, with only the most impactful and transformative technologies being recognized as finalists and winners.

Our selection as a finalist validates what we've known since the inception of the EXG™ system: that accurate, consistent electrode placement is not just a technical detail—it's a critical factor in patient outcomes that has been overlooked for far too long.

What Makes EXG™ Award-Worthy?

The judges of the EMS World Innovation Awards evaluate submissions based on several key criteria:

  • Innovation:: Does it represent a genuine advance in EMS technology?
  • Clinical Impact:: Will it improve patient outcomes?
  • Practical Application:: Can it be easily integrated into existing workflows?
  • Cost-Effectiveness:: Does it provide value to EMS agencies?
  • The EXG™ system excels in all these areas. By addressing the well-documented problem of electrode misplacement—affecting everyone from paramedics to cardiologists—we've created a solution that simultaneously improves diagnostic accuracy, simplifies training, and reduces the potential for error.

    Industry Recognition and Validation

Being named an Innovation Awards finalist follows other significant recognition for C-Booth Innovations, including:

  • FDA registration received in October 2023
  • Feature in an unsolicited EMS1.com article highlighting the importance of electrode placement
  • Positive reception at major EMS conferences including EMS World Expo and NAEMSP
  • Growing adoption among forward-thinking EMS agencies nationwide
  • The Journey to Innovation

The EXG™ system was born from the real-world experience of two innovative emergency medicine physicians who recognized a fundamental problem: despite 50 years of ECG technology advancement, electrode placement methods hadn't evolved. They saw firsthand how misplaced electrodes could lead to:

  • Missed diagnoses of life-threatening conditions
  • False-positive readings triggering unnecessary Cath Lab activations
  • Inconsistent readings between pre-hospital and hospital settings
  • Extended training requirements with persistent accuracy challenges
  • Looking Ahead

While being named an Innovation Awards finalist is an honor, it's also a responsibility. This recognition amplifies our mission to make accurate 12-lead ECGs the standard of care across all emergency medical settings.

We're committed to continued innovation, with ongoing development of additional features and applications for the EXG™ platform. Our goal isn't just to win awards—it's to save lives through better diagnostic accuracy.

Thank you to the EMS World Innovation Awards judges, the entire emergency medical services community, and most importantly, to the clinicians whose dedication to patient care inspired the creation of the EXG™ system.
